And I'd REALLY hate to have you as an enemy! Hahaha! Love you!!! :)Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06463334465705703550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664109750269962228.post-23979402730861215112011-09-12T16:51:22.035-07:002011-09-12T16:51:22.035-07:00Oh Elizabeth, I have so much to say that this migh...Oh Elizabeth, I have so much to say that this might turn into "Rachel's Blog."

1. This male runner, let's call him "tool" for the remainder of the post, should not have any power over your decision to come out and run tomorrow. I know you know this already but I wanted to reinforce it.
2. The greater good! Coming from a Nurse Practitioner this should be no surprise but what you are doing for your family and society is much more impactful (and respectable) than being able to run fast (which you do actually do by the way). How does being able to run fast impact anyone other than the runner really? Sure they may win some money here and there, and maybe get sponsored, but that is all for their selfish little self. When tool called you a cheater it proves this selfish theory of mine. What a childish (and selfish) thing to say to another adult.
3. About 10 years ago I tried to run a marathon with the Team in Training group. The fundraising aspect was so challenging for me that I gave up. This says a lot because I can’t think of many things I have given up on in life. The running part was easy but planning events (car washes, dinners, etc.), writing letters, and looking for cheap things to sell (beef jerky, candy, etc.) was overwhelming. So in my opinion, anyone that “only” has to be able to run fast is the cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater. You have to train, fundraise, socialize, and deal with people like tool. That is way more intense in my opinion.
4. I actually have more respect for good old Big Butt Bob than I do for Fast Freddie. And much more respect for “All in One” Elizabeth (this is the name I have given you because you do it ALL!!)
5. You are an inspiration Elizabeth. Your passion and drive to be an “active” runner has blown me away! I’m so proud of you and feel very lucky to be able to call you my friend. The world needs more people like you and less tools. That’s probably why we are in the predicament that we are in these days... too many tools and not enough Big Butt Bob’s or All in One Elizabeth’s.

I hope to see you tomorrow!Rachel Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10162791573988202278noreply@blogger.com
